Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04

Things I have learned from personal research of Ubuntu Documentation, You tube videos, and personal experiences.

The following is a to-the-point version of the basic steps to downloading and installing Ubuntu Linux:

Download rufus or other usb writer.

Download Ubuntu (or other linux distro.) image.

Run rufus and upload the O.S. to a flash-drive (8gb or larger).

Boot to Bios/UEFI.

Change boot order, or select USB as a boot option.

Chose 'Try or install Ubuntu..."

Installation is pretty straightforward.

Select language, keyboard layout, etc.

For basic overwrite of the hard drive, go with pre-set formatting,

formatting a USB is fairly simple, but I do not recall the exact steps at the moment.

Space bar and/or enter key with select and unselect boxes, mouse will not work for server installation.

I go with basic install, only changes is adding open ssh.

after loading you will be prompted to reboot.

Remove USB when prompted. Click enter.

Sign in upon reboot (using the username and password from setup).

Ubuntu is my preferred Linux Distribution, Jammy Jellyfish (22.04) is my fav., but obviously 24.04 is great too.
